Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta

In 2017 Canada has its 150th anniversary of the Confederation. In order to celebrate this memorable fact, ships of all continents join the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta to gather on the St. Lawrence Bay in the middle of June. Tall Ships from all continents participate in this Regatta. For Europe, Greenwich is the start port for this Transatlantic Regatta. From Greenwich the ships will sail to Sines, Portugal, the Canary Islands, Bermuda and Boston and finally arrive in Quebec. The ships will gather in Greenwich and Woolwich as from April 12 onwards. The ceremonial start is on Sunday 16 April 2017 in Greenwich.

After the success of the 2014 Tall Ships Regatta, which attracted 1.1 million visitors, the Royal Borough of Greenwich is proud to welcome back a fleet of Tall Ships to the River Thames. From 12-16 April (Easter Weekend) Royal Greenwich will be host port for 35-40 Tall Ships part. One of the largest fleets ever assembled. Part of this fleet will actually join the entire Regatta and some of the ships sail only one leg or are there to wave goodbye to the participating ships. The event promises to show a wide variety of large and smaller traditional sailing vessels as there has never been in the last decennia.

During these 5 days there are different activities in Greenwich, Woolwich and on the River Thames. The most beautiful Tall Ships can be visited, but you have also the possibility to sail on board of one of the Tall Ships. In particular we have a choice of tickets available to buy (click here), but it is also possible to join with your company or business relations on an exclusive ship.
